Why is it called osteopathy?

In 1874, Andrew T  Still, the founder of Osteopathy coined the term Osteopathy for the first time,  “OSTEO” came from the word for bone and “PATHY” meaning feeling.  A.T.Still was a medical doctor (MD) of the day and used Osteopathy to treat many joint and bone issues as well as other conditions from Malaria, Asthma, Spanish flu….. so he knew he was treating more than bones. The way he connected with the body was largely through the bones and he used his hands to feel what is happening in the body.
